Shalom Grace Missions Foundations and Xipe Youth for Development Support Xipe M/A Basic School
The initiative aims to empower students with essential ICT tools, fostering digital literacy and creating opportunities for academic excellence.
Two non-govermental organizations (NGO’s), Shalom Grace Missions Foundations (SGMF) and Xipe Youth for Development (XIYOD) have donated Desktop Computers and Chromebook Laptops to the Xipe M/A Basic School on Monday, 9th December, 2024.
This thoughtful gesture highlights the unwavering commitment of both organizations to promote quality education and bridge the digital divide in underserved communities in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta region.
The initiative aims to empower students with essential ICT tools, fostering digital literacy and creating opportunities for academic excellence.
The items were presented by Wisdom Adzakey popularly known as Jopasty, an Executive Youth Counsel Member of XIYOD. In his opening remarks with staff of the school, he was impressed with their dedication to duty, attendance and time consciousness. He expressed the hope that, the school will improve on their academic performance going forward.
Jopasty further encouraged the teachers to put in their very best with the knowledge that, “even if they’re not adequately rewarded, their children will be blessed as they sacrifice to impart knowledge unto other’s children.”
He stated that, “Government alone cannot do all, that’s where XIYOD comes in to help ensure that, the basic needs of teachers and the learners are provided to improve teaching and learning outcomes,” he remarked.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, Mr. Eli Azameti, the headmaster of the XIPE M/A Basic School, expressed gratitude to Jopasty for coming to the aid of the school, describing their efforts as timely.
Like Oliver Twist, the headmaster expressed hope that XIYOD will take a look at other needs of the school to ensure their basic necessities are met.
He assured the donors of that management of the school will ensure proper maintenance of the computers in order to serve the purpose for which they were donated.
