Dr. Lawrence Agyeman Sereboe, medical director of St. Micheal’s Specialist Hospital in Accra, has warned about the dangers of smoking shisha. He said, an hour- long session of smoking is equivalent as smoking 100 packs of cigarettes.
Speaking at a heart health screening event in honor of World Heart Day, Dr. Sereboe highlighted the serious health risk posed by shisha, which has gained popularity, especially. Among the youth at pubs and lounges.
Emphasizing the severe impact, it has on the heart and its contribution to the rise in cardiovascular diseases, Dr. Sereboe cautioned, “smoking shisha is ticking time bomb”.
