“Snakes, Lizards, Cockroaches and Grasscutters are learning” in the Schools i built – Mahama

Former President and Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has bemoaned the neglect of the schools he built for Ghanaians by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration led by President Akufo-Addo.

President Mahama as part of efforts to enhance the country’s education decided to build 200 ultra modern schools, he succeeded in completing over 50 of those schools while over 70 were at different stages of completion before the NPP won the elections in 2016.

Speaking to Chiefs and people of Gambia# in the Ahafo Region as part of his “SpeakOut” tour, the NDC leader said “the infrastructure is there but who are those learning there Snakes, Lizards, Cockroaches and Grasscutters are learning there.”

He said a Chief told him recently that the reason why Ghana is not progressing is because successive governments has always neglected important projects initiated by their predecessors and rather go in for a loan and pursue a different project.

He indicated the challenges then free SHS is facing vis a vis burden on parents and teachers alike.
He said these double track and its challenges would be a thing of the past when he becomes President in 2021.

He said the “Free SHS is a good Police and has come to stay , it’s a good policy but poor implementation,” JOHN Mahama said.
