He explains some of them, after stealing the items to their homes, call people to record the food served the children on tape to show the policy is being implemented poorly.

Addressing a durbar at the Ohum Festival at Kyebi Saturday, July 21, 2024, the Okyenhene called for those found sabotaging the programme to be dealt according to the law.

He attributed the development to rising issues of unpatriotism, indiscipline and irresponsibility on the part of some citizens who have made it a culture to sabotage programmes meant to better the lives of the citizenry.

TV3’s Eastern Regional correspondent, Yvonne Neequaye, reports the Osagyefo cited an incident in a Senior High School at Kyebi, where a staff member stole food items meant for students and emphasized that such individuals should be named and shamed.

“Akufo-Addo’s government has made education and feeding free, including PTA. So, if the teachers and matron steal the food items to their homes, then they are bad people. After that you call cameramen to video the meals without meat. Meanwhile, you’ve stolen the meat to your home just to sabotage the good initiative introduced by the man (Akufo-Addo). Some have occurred at Kyebi here and they even steal food items meant for the deaf and dumb to their hometowns to sell,” he disclosed.

This year’s Ohum Festival coincides with the chief’s 25th Anniversary celebration on his ascension to the Ofori Panin stool.
