Students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been ordered to vacate campus by mid-day of September 18.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) on Wednesday, September 15, pointing to a planned disturbance on campus on the eve of vacation –September 17.

The statement, however reminded the students that a 2018 declaration of the KNUST as a security zone is in full force, adding, security will be beefed up on campus to enforce the directive.

The directive, issued by the Regional Minister and Chairman of the ARCC, Simon Osei-Mensah, exempted foreign students and those permitted by management to stay on campus.

The Minister further warned that any student who foments trouble would be dealt with according to law.
