The Tanker Drivers Unions, comprising the Bulk Tanker Drivers Union and National Association of Tanker Drivers have issued a notice to embark on an Industrial strike action against the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and their transporters over what they term poor working conditions.

The decision according to the aggrieved Drivers follows the NPA’s failure to implement the salary renegotiation dialogue with their transporters since last year 2023.

According to the national chairman of the Bulk Tanker Drivers Union, Clement Ampadu, both parties had a mutual agreement over salary adjustment last year but it is unfortunate to announce the unusual U-Turn by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and their transporters.
