“The laptops, they said by the 31st of August they will get the issue addressed but like I told you, we have put all the gamut of all the promises together and we feel that where we are we don’t want to be taken by surprise and therefore we are giving them by the 16th of September, they should fulfill all what they have told us both in the collective agreement including the challenges regarding promotions, upgrading and the deprived area allowance,” he said.

In another development, the General Secretary of GNAT also raised issues about the Public Services Commission, which has delayed promotions of directors and deputy directors including teachers.

He asked the Public Services Commission to act fast or face agitations on the 16th of September.

“What is happening at the Public Services Commission is an eyesore. I remember that His Excellency once stopped the Public Services Commission, told them that they should exclude the Ghana Education Service, but they have gone back again. They are doing the same thing, and we want to tell them that what is happening now is not in our best interest,” Mr Tanko said.
