Tension in Suhum as police pick up suspected thugs with guns

Reports from Suhum in the Eastern Region indicate that police have apprehended some suspected thugs at Obeng Down in the Suhum constituency with some weapons.

The 14 young men who were arrested by the police over alleged intimidation on them are in police custody at the  Suhum Police station.

Eyewitnesses say the suspected thugs were arrested for allegedly intimidating some voters at the Daily Bread Hotel near Obeng Down before police officers pounced on them in a Rambo style amidst warning shots.

Meanwhile some voters have expressed fear in going out to vote.
