The Military and Landguardism in Ghana

The Military High Command and the Defence Minister must speak to the above three events involving men in Ghana Army uniforms performing Landguard operations, wounding civilians in the process.

Kpletso Shooting and Assault by armed men in Ghana Army uniforms occurred on 15th April, 2021 – journalists and citizens of La were injured, one (Adjorkor) has since died..

The President, Defence Minister and CDS have ignored the victims of the Kpletso Shooting and Assault which opened the floodgates for the Ejura and Wa Military impunity…

The Military High Command promised Ghanaians on 16th April, 2021 but till date refused to make its findings public.

The Police Service also failed to investigate despite the fact that the Kpletso Shooting and Assault happened in the presence of DCOP Kwesi Ofori and other senior Police officers…

The Dome Faase Military Landguards were nearly lynched…

Their client, the Apedwahene of the Okyehene, himself an ex-serviceman who was described by the Okyehene as a criminally-minded person is walking free…

Today’s Zambramba Line fake Military officers who shot and wounded some residents were nearly lynched…

The fake Military officers have been arrested and sent to the Dansoman Police…

The Military High Command and the Defence Minister must speak to the above three events involving men in Ghana Army uniforms performing Landguard operations, wounding civilians in the process.

The IGP must make public its findings after thorough investigation.

Those who deployed these “Military Landguards” must be arrested and prosecuted.

The risk of innocent men in Ghana Army uniforms being lynched in the future if the government does not set up a Commission of Enquiry into the growing phenomenon of Military Landguards stealing Lands with weapons…
