The National Football League to Host Youth NFL Flag Tournaments in Kenya And Ghana In October
NFL, KFAF and GAFF to partner on NFL FLAG events
Winning teams to travel to U.S. to represent countries at the 2024 Pro Bowl Games
The National Football League alongside the Kenya Federation of American Football (KFAF) and the Ghana American Football Federation (GAFF) have officially announced a collaboration to host youth NFL FLAG football tournaments across both Kenya and Ghana in October
Hosting NFL FLAG programs in Kenya and Ghana is part of the NFL’s long term multi-market commitment to growing the game at all levels in Africa.
Flag football is the non-contact version of American football, played by both boys and girls, and is one of the fastest-growing sports globally. Flag football is fun, exciting, and accessible for all, with women and girls driving some of the fastest growth in the sport.
KENYA:
- 10 teams of boys and girls from Kenya will have the opportunity to play flag football in the NFL FLAG Kenya National Championship.
- The tournament’s winning team will represent Kenya in Orlando, Florida, as they participate in the NFL FLAG International Division at the 2024 Pro Bowl Games in the United States in February.
- The tournament will see boys and girls under 12 years old from regions across the country at the The Kasarani Sports Complex in Nairobi.
GHANA:
- 16 teams of boys and girls from Ghana will have the opportunity to play flag football in the NFL FLAG Ghana National Championship.
- The tournament’s winning team will represent Ghana in Orlando, Florida, as they participate in the NFL FLAG International Division at the 2024 Pro Bowl Games in the United States in February.
- The tournament will see boys and girls under 12 years old from regions across the country at the Bwoodinn Sports Complex in Accra.
