The New Cities Development with Affordable Housing, Creating 5-Star Living Environment, Education and Employment – Dr. Lorinda Liang

Housing is one of the most basic needs and can have a profound impact on happiness, lifestyle and productivity of an individual. Yet the delivery of adequate housing has become more challenging for governments in Africa, and for that matter Ghana. It’s almost impossible for Ghana’s government to build new houses to meet its more than 2 million housing deficits without individual investors’ contributions. It is very true that the housing problem in Ghana has not only caused homelessness and led to slum dwellers in our communities, but also ruined the aesthetic pleasures of the country.

“The New Cities Development project is aimed at working with local and international partners to reduce Ghana’s housing deficit by providing affordable houses to an ordinary Ghanaian,” stated Dr. Lorinda Liang (Chairman and Project Advisor).

She further echoed, that “the cost of houses on the Ghanaian market exceeds the means of many ordinary Ghanaian workers who have no hope of ever owning their own homes during their working lifetime.” Ghana’s housing deficit now exceeds two million despite an annual supply of about 40,000 housing units.

Dr. Liang, executive head of multinational companies and foundations, with her world first class Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) general contractors (from USA, ASIA, AFRICA, EUROPE…) has assured Ghanaians of unprecedented new cities with affordable houses.

“The involvement of China Railways-China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), China National Electric Engineering Corporation (CNEEC) and screened sub-contractors like; A&M Construction and Engineering (NEJU CORP), Mega AEC Alliance, McBill and with their track records, every Ghanaian can have an idea of the kind of modern-technological cities development that are imminent in Ghana. This New Cities Development with affordable housing project will be distributed across the 16 regions of Ghana, starting from Dodowa(Greater Accra)  Kumasi(Ashanti Region) and to the other regions”. Dr. Liang said

She revealed that the nationwide project worth $10 billion plus will include States of Arts, Medical Centre- youth and children’s hospitals, Health galaxy World, health Galaxy Museums, Schools, Churches, recreational Centres, banks, shopping malls Inner city transit and sky rail to the international airport. We are aiming to grow as much as 100Billion dollar city as in Lekki and Singapore.

This project mainly seeks to achieve a triple bottom line; thus, whilst creating a solution to Ghana’s deficit of over 2 million housing needs by 100,000 units of affordable houses and unveiling the aesthetic beauty of Ghana, it will also provide over 100,000 jobs for the youth of the country, especially.

According to our careful investigations and findings, Dr. Liang’s adroitness and strategic ideas in project financing played a remarkable role in facilitating the redevelopment of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and relocation of the University of Ghana Medical School and it’s teaching hospital on Legon campus.  In 2008, her palm oil plantation project also provided hundreds of thousand jobs for farmers in Central Region. She believes that, Ghana is a blessed country with rich farm lands and natural resources. Therefore, going back to farming will help ensure food security, boost and accelerate economic growth in Ghana. This will help Ghana’s dream come true.

To help create jobs to reduce unemployment in Ghana, she has also incorporated more than 8 companies, of which 3 are non-profits with a focus on humanitarian projects in Ghana alone. These companies are mainly fronted and hinge on Modern Gold and Oil Refinery-Gold and Oil Exchange (GH), State Clinical Translational Scientific Research (GH) and The New Cities Development.

She also encouraged, “Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in health, has caused lives and economic damages in the world but this is the time to unite in strength and hold each other like a family in order to overcome these stormy times. I side with Henry Ford when he once said” Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal” and Roger Crawford “Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional”.

“Even though I am not a Ghanaian, I feel like a Ghanaian. My heart has always been with the youth of this country, especially the jobless, homeless and deprived. And I want to say this, that projects are initiated to create jobs, development and economic growth and sustainability in a country. Therefore, I fervently appeal to the government of Ghana, the security services and the youth to help provide a serene and friendly working environment for foreign investors like myself, so we can also help steer developmental and humanitarian projects into recovery”  Dr. Liang asserted.
