THE NPP MUST REALLY BE SHORTSIGHTED
There is a Chinese proverb that emphasizes on “Involve me and I will understand”. It is the basis of the NDC taking the boldest slept to develop a manifesto that is people-centered.
Remember when former President Mahama, the flag bearer of the NDC said the manifesto of the NDC 2020 bid must be of the people, by the people and of the people? There is nothing more effective that putting people’s ideas back to them to ask for their collective involvement.
You cannot build any nation from a top-down approach. The best form of leadership under every democratic setting is a bottom-up approach.
When this happens, the people appreciate and celebrate the successes with their leader. When they fail, they see the failure as their collective failure and not that of the leader. They feel they let themselves down by collectively failing to develop workable solutions to their problems.
I find it so laughable that instead of the government and its assigns panicking over what the opposition is doing which would see to their eventual defeat, they are rather ridiculing this move.
When the NPP went into the 2016 elections with their one this one that mantra, it seemed to resonate with the people. Unfortunately, they did not involve the people at that opportune time to see how they could collectively implement such policies. As a result, the failures of all those one this one that, are seen as a fail of leadership of which the people share no responsibility in.
I applaud the NDC. This is an involving process that would generate an organic manifesto that relates and addresses the people’s collective desires and aspirations.
The rescue of the people must be their personal proposed blueprint. They can explain best their predicaments and suggest best how those predicaments could be salvaged for their good.
Kudos for this RESCUE AGENDA
