Folks, I am truly happy that John Dramani Mahama has really woken up the hordes of low-minded, rattle-tattle hypocrites on Ghana’s political scene.
His innocuous reiteration of the commonplace cliche “do-or-die” has given them much to talk about to confirm their abysmal ignorance, political immaturity, and notoriety as armchair critics and pesky irritants.
They are all over the place, making all kinds of useless comments and condemning him as if his utterance is the vinegar entering their veins to endanger their lives.
The expression “do-or-die” is a simple and commonplace one that has been used in Ghana for ages.
It is rhetorically viable for motivation. It is not a call to arms.
Or is it now to be interpreted as a war-cry because it has come from the mouth of Mahama?
Are those loud-mouthed idlehands criticizing Mahama for using it claiming that they haven’t heard it used before?
Whoever claims not to know that usage as such is the worst foolish wit, not a witty fool (Shakespeare on my mind here).
Only low-thinkers will waste time criticizing Mahama as such.
For decades, hasn’t Mahama established himself as affable, peace-loving, and altruistic and been respected as such?
That is ingrained in his character; and one’s character doesn’t change overnight or on the-spur-of-the-moment, innate as it is. So, why the fuss to undermine his integrity?
As for me, whatever slogan will motivate the NDC camp and turn the political table against this damn useless NPP should be coined and drummed out loud.
