Three killed, 20 injured in Gomoa Okyereko highway collision

A tragic accident on the Gomoa Okyereko stretch of the Kasoa-Winneba highway has claimed three lives and left 20 others critically injured. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
According to Citi News sources, the collision occurred between a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number GW 5477-24, traveling from Winneba to Kasoa, and a Hyundai Grace vehicle registered as GR 5899-22, heading in the opposite direction.

Speaking to the media, DO 2 Adu-Poku emphasized the need for commercial drivers to exercise patience and avoid speeding, especially with the festive season approaching.
“We want this to go to all the drivers. We want them to be patient. This accident that happened this morning could have been avoided if this man had taken his time for the driver in front of him to go,” he said.
He further urged drivers to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies. “This accident would have been avoided. We want them to understand that, in fact, there are laws in Ghana, there are laws on the road, and we want them to go by the laws,” Adu-Poku added.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, while road safety campaigns intensify to minimize accidents during the festive season.
