The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday January 22, 2022 undertook an outreach program in the South Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region.
This was at the conference hall of the Government College Of Education- Avetile-Peki where National delegations, regional delegations, Cadres’ rep, former MP who hails from the Constituency, Current MP in the Constituency, the Constituency executives and all wards/branch executives gathered.
The event was colourful and successful.
The Constituency chairman gave a short message to open the forum.
Also among the dignitaries was Dr. Kwame Ampofo who spoke about strategies for winning the 2024 elections. He charged the party executives to wake up and change their styles of political messaging methods to the general public because “we can’t be doing the same thing all the time and be expecting different answer”.
“We need to win the 2024 election by hook or crook,” he stated.
The current lawmaker for South Dayi Constituency, Rockson-Nelson Kwame Etse Dafeamekpor Esq. touched on his achievements in each community as a Member of Parliament. Mr Dafeamekpor also threw lights on the balance state of the MPs (137 each) at both sides of the house with one independent MP.
He raised the curtain on the occurrences (debates) in the eighth parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana.
“I am grateful to the support base (branch and the Constituency executives), I can’t do anything without your support, you will be rewarded accordingly,” he stated.
Mr Seth Adetor, a cadre rep applauded the gathering because of their eagerness and readiness to retrieve power from the heartless elephant family (NPP) come 2024.
“Our party dues cards have expired, all the details in the registers remain the same, the details needed to be transferred onto the newly created ones( this: the ordinary/normal dues payment card and the electronic version)”.
“You’re not working hard for the party if you refuse to pay dues on time”, he added.
Don’t wait till the cards are needed before you become a pay up member by force, pay on time to avoid disappointment according to the fourth facilitator Mad. Mary Agbenyenu
The Regional Chairman Mr Henry Kodzo Ametefe paid a surprise visit to reveal how helpful MPs are to the party especially in opposition.
“Bring the youths in the politics and train them so that when you’re no more, they succeed you”.
The Regional Chairman is Happy that South Dayi Constituency has elected MP DAFEAMEKPOR to represent them, to form part of the Volta caucus, to form part of the NDC MPs and also MPs in parliament as a whole, he always fight for his people.
Mr. Ametefe asked everyone to try as much as possible to partake in activities that favours the party to ease the election campaigns ahead of on the Regional executives.
Mr. Siki Abibu who’s the current Volta Regional Organizer took the gathering through the party structures and their roles.
Every position is well defined by him and the gathering was ok.
Volta MPs that are working hard have to be maintained to enable them descend from back bench to front bench in parliament, he told the gathering.
The schedule dates for the reorganizations from the branch to national level, Parliamentary and Presidential primaries will be known to you in due time, he have the hint as he lauded MP Dafeamekpor as one of the hard working MPs in the parliament of Ghana.
He is a promising MP and we’re proud of him according to Mr Siki
Mr Paschal Agbagba the regional elections director educated the executives on the election related.
Everyone must endeavor to get National Identification (NIA) card/ GHANA CARD.
He educated the gathering on what do to grab one as it much essential for use in the subsequent election related activities.
He can’t afford to appreciate MP DAFEAMEKPOR’s efforts in parliament.
The program is wrapped up by Fiifi Kwetey former MP and minister who spoke about the newly introduced membership card by the party.
“The NPP is always desperate for political power and when they get it, they misuse it as we are all witnessing under Bawumia Akufo Addo’s government”.
We need to chase the elephant back to the bush to rescue this awkward situations we are in.
How will all these happen? We need to unite and do things together to achieve that goal according to him.
Reorganizations dates will be scheduled and communicated to you all.
Keep doing the good works, your reward come at the appropriate time the former finance minister said.
“We shall award every hard working executives one after the other therefore I challenge everyone of you to do well to be part of that list”.
