Trump’s Christian Appeal: Evangelicals Embrace His Advocacy Despite Personal Irreligiosity

According to the research, most people who view Trump positively don’t think he is especially religious himself. But many think he stands up for people with religious beliefs like theirs.

Trump increasingly infuses his campaign with Christian trappings, his support is as strong as ever among evangelicals and other conservative Christians.

Bertrand Russel is known in history as great mathematician and philosopher, very influential in some his writings albeit, an avowed atheist.

In the course of his life, he repeatedly said that the only hope for the world was that people would act toward one another as Christians. He was not himself a Christian, yet he was advocating the Christian lifestyle. He was arguing or advocating for something which he himself had not experienced.

According to Pew Research Centre, Two-thirds of white evangelicals support Donald Trump because they see him as a valuable ally in advancing a Christian nationalist agenda. Clear examples being his support and campaigning to criminalize abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, particularly to transgender expressions.

Yes, he may be having an ugly past based on your value judgement as someone who has been divorced twice, married three times and found liable for sexual abuse and other indictable offences. But his overwhelming support base are “not concerned” about Trump’s past conduct.

One popular supporter, Kimberly Vaughn said, “Trump supports Jesus, and without Jesus, America will fall” another, with a luminous image of Jesus declared in a shirt, “Make America Godly Again.”
