The Tuobodom District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has marked its 10th anniversary with a series of events, culminating in a special church service held at the Tuobodom Presbyterian School Park. The district, which has grown to include 18 congregations over the past decade, celebrated the milestone as members gathered to thank God for their progress and the blessings they have received.

Rev. Benjamin Appiah, Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, commended the Tuobodom District for its instrumental role in soul-winning over the last ten years. He also reminded the congregation to be mindful of their actions as Ghana heads toward the upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity.

Reflecting on the district’s growth, Rev. Appiah noted, “Tuobodom was originally part of the Techiman District. Ten years ago, they established four congregations in the Techiman North District, earning recognition as a standalone district. This has been a decade of God’s faithfulness and a promising future.” The theme for the anniversary was “A Decade of God’s Faithfulness, a Promising Future,” aligning with a sermon on loving God and one’s neighbor.

With the election nearing, Rev. Appiah encouraged the congregation to maintain peace and respect toward political opponents. “Your political opponent is not your enemy. Let us go to the polls peacefully, thank God if your party wins, and, if not, regroup for the next election,” he advised. He also urged political communicators to refrain from insults and inflammatory language, stressing that elections should not be viewed as a “do-or-die affair.”

Rev. Joseph Adu Affum, the Tuobodom District Minister, highlighted some of the activities that marked the 10th-anniversary celebrations. “We launched the anniversary across all local congregations, held a music festival in Kenten, organized a quiz competition, and conducted a cleanup exercise in Tuobodom and its surroundings,” he shared. Rev. Affum expressed gratitude for God’s guidance and blessings over the years, affirming that the district remains committed to serving the community.

Additionally, Rev. Appiah announced a fundraising initiative to purchase a vehicle for the district minister, which will aid in reaching all 18 outstations within the district. He appealed to the youth to abstain from actions that could disrupt the nation’s peace, especially during the election period.

The anniversary celebrations not only reflected on the past ten years but also looked to the future, with the church reaffirming its commitment to positively impact the lives of those in the community.
