The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has informed the government and the general public of their planned industrial action at the end of this month.

They intend to lay down their tools over issues relating to their conditions of service including breach of their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) by the government.

“In May 2024, the Ministry of Finance directed the implementation of revised allowances for senior members of public universities. Based on that, an addendum to our CBA was signed in July 2024. However, the government has refused to implement these revised allowances, constituting a clear violation of our rights and a repudiation of the agreement,” it said in a press statement.

“We demand the payment of the agreed-upon rates for vehicle maintenance, off-campus, fuel, utility, and sanitation/security allowances by the month ending September 2024.”

It is their case that the government has discriminated against them in the payment of common allowances due to them compared to their fellows in public universities.

They intend to go ahead with the industrial action if these payments do not reflect in the validation of September 2024 salaries.

“We will declare a nationwide strike action until all the allowances are fully paid,” it noted.
