Two arrested for robbing and killing 80-year-old woman

The suspects were brought to Cape Coast District Court 1  which was presided by Her Worship Anita Sheila S.Crabbe. Investigator DSP Daniel Gadzo told the court that investigations are done and all the necessary dockets have been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for advice.

The New Edubiase Police have arrested two people for robbing and killing an 80-year-old Ghanaian living in America at her private residence in Nyinese, Central Region.

Yusif Afrim, 25, and Wisdom Sete, 35, robbed the victim, killed her, and buried her behind her home before fleeing with a Mini Cooper saloon car with registration number CR 267 – 24 and a Toyota Vitz with registration number GJ 3817 – 21.

They were reportedly heading towards Kumasi in the Ashanti Region when police upon intelligence apprehended them at New Edubiase.

During interrogation, Wisdom Sete admitted that on April 18, 2024, he used juju to kill his hostess fiance Naomi, a 55-year-old Ghanaian living in America, at her private residence in Nyinese, Central Region, and buried her behind the building.

According to him, he misunderstood the deceased’s refusal to give him access to the Toyota Vitz saloon car despite their upcoming official marriage ceremony, which is only a few days away.

A search in the Mini Cooper saloon car revealed the deceased’s ASUS laptop, two (2) Samsung handsets, a wristband with the inscription South Virginia Community College, assorted clothes, and Cash of Ten Thousand dinars ( Iraq currency ).

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to 11th June 2024 and the two suspects have also been remanded into prison custody.
