Two policemen who arrested colleague carrying 84 parcels of ‘weed’ promoted

The Inspector-General of Police., Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has promoted two cops for their role in effecting the arrest of Sgt Lotsu Agbeko for possessing substances believed to be Indian hemp.

The two officers are Inspector Azumah Komla Justice and Cpl Felix Diameh.

A statement issued by the police on Tuesday (14 June) said:  “The suspect G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko failed to stop at the Have Police barrier when he was signaled by the officers on duty to do so.”

“He was therefore given a chase and on reaching a section of the road on the Kpeve Mountain, he was involved in an accident and had a fracture on his left hand.

“He was arrested and sent to the hospital for treatment. He has since been transferred to the Police Hospital for further medical attention where he is under guard,” the police statement said.

The police retrieved 84 parcel of compressed dried leave, suspected to be Indian hemp from his car.
