MP for Sissala West donates Bags of Cement to Jawia Community for the Completion of Health Facility
The Honorable Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sissala West Constituency, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, on Sunday April 25, 2021 presented some bags of cement to the Jawia community to enable them complete their health facility. The presentation forms part of the MP’s contribution to enable Jawia and its surrounding villages own a health facility and access good health care.
This facility is a community initiative started with contributions from each member of the town and without any governmental support. It followed the realization that the current CHPS compound in the community has become too small to serve the entire community.
During a campaign tour of the community last year then candidate Sukparu promised to assist them complete the facility if he wins the elections. “I am therefore using this period my “Thank you” tour of the constituency to redeem my campaign promise to you,” he stated in a brief speech.
He said as a way scaling-up health delivery services in the Constituency, he is donating 100 bags of cement to the community to support their self-initiated project. He promised to furnish the facility when it is finally completed
The MP made a called on other communities to emulate the unity and volunteerism of the people of Jawia in fighting for development..
Assembly Member for the Jawia-Lipleme Electoral area, Salifu Gbemmie, who spoke on behalf of the community, thanked the MP for the donation. He said the MP had earlier helped the community with street lights to the health facility and constructed a feeder road of 100 meters from the main road to the site of the facility. The community was full with joy and enthusiasm for the MP’s support. Some of the nurses present at the scene also expressed their appreciation to the MP and the community for the show of love for their services.
As part of the thank you tour the MP also appreciated the community for the confidence reposed in him to represent them in Parliament. He also used the opportunity to call for calm, urging them to burry their differences as elections are over until the next four years.
He was supported by the constituency, branch and zonal executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
