UCC Gets New Registrar

Currently, the Director of Academic Affairs, Mr Abbeyquaye will take up his new role at the beginning of next month.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has unveiled Mr Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye as its newly appointed Registrar.

Currently, the Director of Academic Affairs, Mr Abbeyquaye will take up his new role at the beginning of next month.

He replaces Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey whose tenure concludes at the end of this month.

This was announced in a press statement by the institution following its 120th Regular Meeting held last Thursday by the Governing Council.

“It is announced for the information of the University of Cape Coast Community and the General Public that the Governing Council, at its 120th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 24th October 2024, appointed Mr. Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye as the new Registrar of the University with effect from 1st November, 2024.”

Mr Abbeyquaye previously as Deputy Director (Information Systems), Senior Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, Programmer and Senior Administrative Assistant.

With over 20 years experience working with ICT in University Administration, he has over the years found his niche in students’ records management in Ghanaian Universities.

He has advised management on various issues including revenue generation and implementing solutions which make management of students’ records hustle free. He has special interests in fusing digital technology into management processes for effective decision making.

After obtaining a BA Degree in Economics from UCC in 1996, he pursued an MBA in Management Information Systems in the year 2000 from University of Ghana Business School.

He enrolled in the Professional Law Programme of the Ghana School of Law after obtaining an LLB degree from University of Cape Coast in 2016. He was called to the Ghana Bar Association in June 2020. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese with HSK 1 proficiency.

He is married to Gladys and is blessed with three children, Nennyi, Nhyira and Ayeyi.
