The Fellows and entire administration of the University of Ghana (UG) have inaugurated Dr. Charles Brenya Wiafe-Akenteng as the 16th Master of the Legon Hall. This follows his outstanding contributions and services as a Senior Lecturer and Social Psychologist of the Hall.
Dr. Wiafe-Akenteng won with a majority votes to become the Hall Master because of his hard work and leadership role played throughout his stewardship.
Addressing the congregation, the officiating minister, Rev. Dr. Abamfo Ofori Atiemo, the chairman of chaplaincy of Board of the University, advised the Hall Master to be truthful and serve with righteousness. He cited Solomon in the Bible as an example, the way God gave him the mandate to rule because of his truthfulness and righteousness.
He prayed Dr. Wiafe-Akenteng would shun all attitudes that would derail the future prosperity of his reign and work but be abreast with the good fortunes that would successfully address the issues of the hall.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, reechoed the need for the Hall master to accept the responsibility and show high level of integrity and good conduct throughout his reign.
“This is the time for you as the Hall Master to live by the principles and procedures of the University which indicates abiding by the rules and regulations as set by law in the University,” he noted.
He again tasked Dr. Wiafe-Akenteng to work assiduously towards achieving a legacy for the benefit of the hall and, as well as establish good attitude to enable him set the best records for himself and the University as a leader. He urged him to embrace self-confidence, boldness and steadfastness during decision making and establish good relationships with the subordinates of the hall.
Dr. Wiafe-Akenteng expressed his appreciation to the speakers for the advice and told journalist he is ready to take the mantle of the Hall to the next level.
