A Kia Rhino truck travelling from Bawku to Kumasi was ambushed and set ablaze by gunmen in Walewale on Tuesday, January 14 2025.
The incident occurred at a time President John Dramani Mahama is on a visit to Bawku and Nalerigu to address the ongoing chieftaincy conflict in the communities.

The truck, which was transporting vegetables from Mognori in the Bawku Municipality to Kumasi, came under attack in the North East Region.
