V/R: Eight persons contest incumbent for Council of State membership

Nine (9) persons aspiring to represent the Volta Region on the Council of State have filed their nominations with the Volta Regional Electoral Commission’s office.

At the closed of nomination on Thursday, February 4, 2021, eight other aspirants have submitted their forms to challenge the incumbent, Francis Albert Nyonyo Agboada.

The election will be held at all the sixteen (16) Regional Capitals on Friday, February 12, 2021, in accordance with Article 89 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

In Volta about 36 delegates are expected to vote to elect one person with simple majority of the total vote.

The aspirants are: Mr. Francis Albert Nyonyo, the incumbent; Mr. Charles Atsu-Koni, Mr. Frederick Kwame Gbeku, Mr. Osei Christian Dziidzi and former member of Parliament for Hohoe, Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo.

The rest are: Mr. Felix Lartey, Mr. Daniel Dzifa Dzakpah, Mr. Robert Castro Mediale and Osei Togbe Adza Tekpor VII (Harry Adorbor).
