Don’t Love the World – Pastor Donkor urges Christians
“Of late, one can see the unbridled display of occultism, ruminant in double money, lottery and many more on radio and television! “ he bemoaned”
Pastor Emmanuel Donkor Head Pastor of Fire Pentecostal Church, headquartered at Aboso near Tarkwa in Western North Region (W/R) has urged his church members in particular and Christians in general to desist from worldly things and living. Instead, they should do God’s will and eschew whatever God hates. Such hated things by God include occultism, murder, theft, hatred lust for money, self-aggrandizement, and arrogance, among others.
Pastor Donkor gave this advice via a powerful sermon at the church’s auditorium at Aboso last week. He expressed miss giving that such vices now abound in the social and electronic media, and even find their way into churches.
“Of late, one can see the unbridled display of occultism, ruminant in double money, lottery and many more on radio and television! “ he bemoaned”.
He pointed out that these things do not only corrupt good habits, but also portray the moral decadence unto which the society has sunken. He recounted with sorrows, how some youth in their quest for quick money, have joined all manner of clubs and associations including “ Sakawa”. Such youth, he noted, would be seen riding in splush, push new cars and swimming in opulence. However since they are usually overwhelmed in such new found life styles, they end up in sorrow resulting from fatal accidents. What marveled him most, he pointed out, was that these neo-rich guys should penetrate churches with their Sakawa money under the pretext of helping God’s Kingdom through huge dominations as these practices have come to the fore of late in some churches in town.
Pastor Donkor Pointed out that such luxury life styles from all-gotten worth are transient, dangerous and deadly, since beneficiaries end up sadly and suddenly. He could not contend how, even some churches had become sources of occultism and quick found money, and life styles that are hated by God-arrogance, pride, pomposity, self-aggrandizement and the likes. He stated that nobody in his or her prime and opulence life style and status can contract the services of someone to clean him/her after visiting the toilet or better still, request the services of someone to bother him/her. “People should therefore tone down and desist from such vices, do whatever God hates so as to attract his blessings”. Pastor Donkor Admonished.
