VGMA23: Winners and nominees were deserving – Krymi
“I had a lot of calls asking if you (Krymi) will be there, and I wasn’t able to go there. I told you that we were mourning, so I don’t want to show face too much. I’m emotional. I can’t hide certain things. So I’m now learning how to put things behind and do what I have to do as an artist,”
Despite his absence at the 23rd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA23), Krymi congratulates all the winners and nominees. He shares that they deserve recognition for all their hard work.
Krymi explained his absence at the most prestigious music night in the Ghanaian entertainment industry when he revealed that he lost his father and two brothers. “I had a lot of calls asking if you (Krymi) will be there, and I wasn’t able to go there. I told you that we were mourning, so I don’t want to show face too much. I’m emotional. I can’t hide certain things. So I’m now learning how to put things behind and do what I have to do as an artist,” he told Giovani Caleb on the 3FM Drive.
In his difficult time, Krymi is still with kindness, as he congratulates Charterhouse and all their partners, including Media General, for a successful event.
“I wasn’t able to go, but I followed on TV and on the timelines. Big shout-outs to TV3 for the coverage. I would say congratulations to all the winners and the organizers. To me, I will say this year, whoever deserved it won. And whoever was nominated was well deserved to be nominated. So I really appreciate the team, the organizers, the entire body.”
Krymi also revealed that he didn’t file for nominations because of his personal loss and issues. “I didn’t file. I was going through a lot. People were asking why ‘Party Gbee’ was not up there. It was last year, so ‘Party Gbee’ qualified, but I didn’t file for it,” he disclosed.
Hopefully, Kyrmi’s new single, ‘Nooty’, will break records at the VGMA24 coming next year. ‘Nooty’ produced by Gigsbeats, is available on all music/streaming platforms.
