Speaking after being unveiled as the head of Bawumia Volunteers for 2024 (B24) in Kumasi, Dr. Adutwum said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government since 2017 has made significant strides in creating a digitally enabled environment for teaching and learning.

This includes innovative programmes that leverage technology to enhance student engagement and improve academic outcomes, the minister indicated.

He said Dr. Bawumia’s bold solutions, as outlined in the NPP’s 2024 manifesto, will accelerate Ghana’s progress, building on the party’s track record of growth-driven policies, particularly in the education sector.

As Education Minister, Dr. Adutwum stated that he has firsthand experience with the impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, noting that it has touched nearly every household.

He said the policy has been hailed as one of the most substantial social interventions by a government, globally recognised for its reach and benefits.

The minister asserted that not only has the NPP government’s Free SHS policy opened doors for over 600,000 students to access secondary education, but it has also invested heavily in building state-of-the-art Science laboratories across the country.

“In fact, the current administration has built more Science laboratories than any other government in Ghana’s history, demonstrating its commitment to empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders,” Dr. Adutwum stressed.

He added that the emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, in particular, prepares students for the modern workforce and drives innovation.

He said the significant transformation in Ghana’s education sector has earned international recognition and acclaim.

“During the past few months, several African countries including Tanzania, Uganda and Liberia, have sent delegations to understudy Ghana’s rapid education transformation,” the minister pointed out.

He asserted that despite the government’s efforts, which have led to notable progress, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) remains reluctant to acknowledge these achievements.

The Education Minister, who has been appointed to lead the Bawumia Volunteers for 2024 (B24), a grassroots campaign machinery of the NPP, pledged his commitment to mobilise young people to canvass votes for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2024 general election.

The innovative initiative aims to engage constituents day and night, leveraging the NPP government’s achievements.

At the Kumasi launch, Dr. Adutwum thanked the party leaders for their trust and pledged unwavering dedication to ensuring Dr. Bawumia’s victory.

He underscored the need for collective effort to protect the NPP’s legacy and prevent the opposition NDC from derailing Ghana’s progress.

Dr. Adutwum thanked the leadership of the party and the flagbearer for the confidence reposed in him, and promised not to relent until Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected as the next president of Ghana.

He emphasised the need for every member of the party to put their shoulders to the wheel to protect the legacy of the NPP, which the opposition NDC seeks to disrupt and redirect Ghana on the path of retrogression.
