Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta, has assured that Ghana’s economic recovery journey will be swift. According to him, the Akufo-Addo-led government is committed to restoring the economic fortunes of the country in the shortest possible time.
Speaking at a gathering of industry experts, policymakers, and international partners at the MTN Group’s 2023 Capital Market Day (CMD), a two-day event designed to foster dialogue with players within the financial community in Johannesburg, South Africa, Mr Ofori-Atta expressed the government’s determination to revitalize the economy securing a prosperous future for all Ghanaians.
In his speech, the Minister acknowledged the devastating effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war on the Ghanaian economy necessitating a return to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a $3 billion bailout package.
Despite these challenges, he stressed that the government remained resolute and was implementing measures to navigate through the difficulties and restore economic stability.
