We dare you to suspend Alan Kyerematen – Asanteman Health Walk organizers

“As far as the organizers are concerned, Alan Kyeremateng did not give us a pesewa. This is just a health walk. There is no law in the party that stops us from wearing the t-shirt of anybody. After all, Alan Kyeremateng is not part of the walk.”

Organisers of the ‘Aduru wo so’ health walk have dared the hierarchy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to suspend Trades and Industry Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen.

This comes after the organisers of the pro-Alan walk defied the directive of the party not to proceed with their intended exercise.

Subsequently, the National Organiser of the party, Henry Nana Boakye said the party will be forced to take action against beneficiary candidates whose names are used to stage such activities.

But speaking to Kumasi-based Luv FM, one of the organisers, Sledge Bonnah said the idea for the health walk was conceived months ago, without the consent of Mr Kyerematen and cautioned Nana B against any decision to suspend Alan for staging the health walk.

“As far as the organizers are concerned, Alan Kyeremateng did not give us a pesewa. This is just a health walk. There is no law in the party that stops us from wearing the t-shirt of anybody. After all, Alan Kyeremateng is not part of the walk.”

“For our national organiser to come on air to say that, if we should continue with this walk, the person in whose name we are staging the walk will be punished, we are daring him to go and punish him. If it had not been for the Ashanti region, he would not have been a national organiser. Who is Nana B to tell us to stop this walk?” he queried.

“We apologize to our General Secretary, Justin Kodua. The time he came in asking us to stop, there was nothing that we could do about it. Because the walk was only three days away, when the time comes for nominations, Alan will pick up forms and contest. We believe he is the best person to lead the party now. We are not doing a rally, it is just a health walk,” he said.

On his part, the former member of parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency, Edward Ennin said “there are some people who think they are more powerful than the party. We queued to put them where they are now. Some persons met with the Vice President and he couldn’t condemn it.”

“Wontumi also organised some people to declare and the Vice President was there and didn’t condemn it but you were happy? If they go that way, we will also go that way. Because they are not above the constitution of the party neither am I. If we want to break the eight, it’s all of us. So if they don’t want to break the eight we will also help them not to break the eight,” he said.
