The Executive Council of the General Conference of the Apostles Revelation Society (ARS), has refuted claims of an alleged assault on one George Dodea aka Torgbui Awli IV, who carries himself as the chairman of the Executive Council of the church and two others – Fomasor Senanu and Adam Abotsi who also claim to be members of the governing council of the church.

In a communiqué issued on November 1, 2021 by the council and signed by its leader and high priest, the Rev. Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu and copied to ghananewsonline.com .gh, the executive council described the alleged assault as false, baseless and unfounded. It said that a publication carried in the Thursday, October 28 edition of the Ghanaian Times Newspaper and captioned “ARS Petitions Police Commander over Assault of Executive Chairman” a publication which seeks to suggest that Rev. Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu the substantive  spiritual leader and chairman of the church’s executive council and his children on September 18, 2021 beat up Torgbui Awli and the two others when they turned up in the premises of the Churche’s headquarters at Tadzewu in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta region to carry out their official duties.

According to the communiqué, the executive council of the church which is its highest governing body recognizes the person of Rev. Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu as its leader and was not aware of any assault on any individuals or group holding themselves out as chairman and executive council members, noting that such individuals were acting illegally and should be disregarded.

It said that the Church’s executive council was aware of the activities of these unscrupulous persons who were only bent on destroying the good name of the church and its living leader after they were expelled from the council and excommunicated from the church following their involvement in various acts of misconduct that breached the tenets and doctrines of the church as stipulated by its late founder Rev.  Prophet (Mawufeame) C.K.N Wovenu.

The communiqué further accused the individuals in question of “stealing” from  the church by illegally opening various bank accounts and asking unsuspecting members of the church to deposit monies into such accounts which according to the release was adversely affecting the day to day administration of the church. The communiqué also cautioned journalists to be circumspect in their reportage and to crosscheck with the facts, doing due diligence to issues before publishing same especially on religious issues not pertaining to the ARS church alone but all religious organizations.

It called on the editorial board of the Ghanaian Times Newspaper to cause its Volta regional correspondent, Alberto Mario Noretti, to publish a rejoinder from the church on the said publication and to apologize to the ARS church and its leader the Rev. Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu as the “reporter has not been fair to the church and its leadership in the matter of the said publication and in previous ones for the sake of peace”.

The communiqué concluded that in the event that the paper and it’s reporter fails to correct  the erroneous impression created by the said reportage within a week from the receipt of the rejoinder, the church and it’s leadership will be left with no option than to institute legal action against the Ghanaian Times Newspaper and it’s Volta regional correspondent. It further cautioned members of the church worldwide to refrain from paying monies into any unauthorized accounts, adding that the Rev. Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu is and remains the sole leader and executive council chairman of the General Conference of the Apostles Revelation Society worldwide, wishing all its members across the globe God’s guidance and protection in the years ahead.
