We won’t spare any EC Official who’ll be caught conniving with NPP – John Afful
A leading member of the communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Afful, has sent a strong caution that his party will deal ruthlessly with any official of the Electoral Commission who would be caught compromising with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the ongoing voter Registration exercise.
Afful, who is also in the campaign team of the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Weija-Gbawe constituency, Cleland Ayaa Ayison, said his party will not spare any officer of the EC who would connive with the NPP to manipulate figures to shore up NPP’s chances in the impending national elections in December.
He was speaking with ghananewsonline.com.gh in an interview on the sidelines of a tour of some selected registration centres in the constituency by the parliamentary candidate. The tour was to afford the candidate and his team the opportunity to familiarize with some of the challenges and to help address some concerns by agents of the NDC that has come to his attention.
Afful noted that the NPP has over the past three years performed so abysmally and that is why it is rellying on the Electoral Commission to rig the election in its favor, “but this won’t work for them. They have lost favor from the eyes of the people and Ghanaians are ready to kick them out in December”.
He warned that the NDC is investigating some alleged reports of connivance including the refusing its party agents access to the ‘end of day’ and ‘start of day’ reports, and if this is found to be true, the individual involved would not be spared.
Cleland Nii Ayaa Ayison is challenging and daring to unseat the incumbent, Tina Mensah, who is also the current Deputy Minister of Health.
The NDC has described Tina Mensah’s performance as abysmal and a dissapointment for which it want the constituents to make a better choice in December so they can experience the true meaning of development in the area.
