Weija dam spillage: Boat carrying school children capsizes; 8 kids reportedly drown
Reports from the ground indicate that among the deceased include a one-year-old baby. Three of the deceased schoolchildren are also said to be from the same mother which has left family members traumatized and devastated.
Rescue efforts are currently underway at Faana in the Weija Gbawe municipality after a boat carrying some school children reportedly capsized.
The incident which occurred on Wednesday has led to some eight of the school kids drowning in the process.
Assemblyman for the McCarthy South electoral area, Clement Agyi said the incident occurred around 5 pm when the children were returning home from school.
