We’ll engage Bagbin to rescind his decision and bring back suspended MPs -Karibu Mahama

The minority caucus has announced plans to engage the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, in a bid to get him to rescind his decision and allow the four suspended MPs to resume their duties.

The suspended MPs are Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor (Majority Whip), Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Minority Whip), Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli, and Jerry Ahmed Shaib.

Speaking on the AM Show on Joy News, the MP for Walewale, Dr Tiah Karibu Mahama, confirmed that the minority leadership will meet with the Speaker to request the reversal of the suspensions.

He stressed that the MPs should be allowed to resume their duties until the investigative committee concludes its work and determines any appropriate sanctions.

He concluded by saying, “If the Speaker does not listen, well that’s why the law court is there, we will test to see whether the Speaker has the right to decide to suspend MPs when investigations haven’t been done”
