We’re not aware of any attempt to rename HTU after late Dr. Ephraim Amu – Management
“The Vice-Chancellor has neither been invited to nor participated in any meeting or event, regarding renaming of the university,” part of the statement read. It added that management had initiated steps to engage the Asogli Traditional Council regarding the issue, in order to ensure peace and progress.
The management of Ho Technical University (HTU) has denied allegations that the government plans to rename the institution after the late Dr. Ephriam Amu.
This comes after the people of Asogli State embarked on a protest to register their displeasure at the attempts to rename the school on Monday, April 22.
At a press conference, the Spokesperson for the Asogli State Council, Togbe Adzi Lakle Howusu XI, said they had heard that the management of the school and the government had decided to rename the school without consultation, stressing that it was disrespectful to them.
However, a statement dated April 23, and signed by the Registrar, Dr Christopher Amehoe, indicated that it is not aware of such an arrangement.
“The Vice-Chancellor has neither been invited to nor participated in any meeting or event, regarding renaming of the university,” part of the statement read.
It added that management had initiated steps to engage the Asogli Traditional Council regarding the issue, in order to ensure peace and progress.
