Why God chose Bawumia as the head of the Economic Management Team at this Time in History

The USD is hovering around GHC9.70, also threatening to cross the ten under the watch of Bawumia who was sold to Ghanaians as one who possess the Midas touch to all our economic problems.

Proverbs 16:5 Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. How else could Ghana’s economic fortunes take this turn under the watch of the most boastful and braggadocious Bawumia as the head of the economic management team? It is not accidental.

Proverbs 6:16-18 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

After all the bragging and haughtiness displayed by Bawumia in his famous lectures on the campuses of Central University, to the applause of even those thought to be learned, the uncritical media and the NPP rented press, this is how the elements of the universe chose to expose the haughty Bawumia. The Ghana Cedi has performed the most abysmal worst in history against the major trading currencies after the braggart claimed he had arrested, imprisoned it and handed the keys to the IGP for safe keeping. The British Pounds Sterling crossed GHC10 a long time ago.

The USD is hovering around GHC9.70, also threatening to cross the ten under the watch of Bawumia who was sold to Ghanaians as one who possess the Midas touch to all our economic problems.

As we speak, all three international ratings agencies (S&P, MOODYS and FITCH) have all placed Ghana’s economy, headed by Bawumia, in junk status. For the first time, Ghana, under Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, cannot borrow from the bond market. Nobody will buy our junk bonds, forcing the very Bawumia and his cohorts to go to the IMF, the very institution they had derided and belittled John Mahama’s government of approaching for a programme in 2015. Today, Bawumia is heading to IMF with our economy in the most deplorable state in history.

Bawumia was categorical of moving the economy from taxation to production, describing every tax policy of the erstwhile Mahama government as wicked and hurting the economy. Bawumia was emphatic that Mobile Money could never be taxed. He said it’d be the highest mark of desperation for a government to want to tax MoMo.

Behold, the economic management team, headed by Bawumia, has introduced 1.5% on all monies transferred from one account to the other. For merely wiring a part of your own salary to your sick mother or child in University, Bawumia would tax you 1.5% of any amount exceeding GHC100 in a day. This was the same Bawumia, who made us to believe the contrary.

Well, I leave you, reader, with these quotes from Scripture for you to understand why God chose Bawumia to be the head of the economic management team at this very moment in history: Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 3:34 He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed. James 4:6 But he gives us more grace.

That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
