The Divisional Chiefs of Boso Gua Traditional Council have cautioned the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs to sideline Nana Osei Nyarko in all activities of the Regional House of Chiefs because he is no more the Paramount Chief of the Boso Gua Traditional Area.
This was contained in a press release jointly signed and issued by the Divisional Chiefs of the Boso Gua Traditional Council which includes Nana Some Asare Kwadwo VIII, Nifahene of the Traditional Area and Chief of Tosen, Nana Obiritrie Gyau Ahima IV Benkumhene, and Chief of Nanyor as well as Osabarima Agyeman Oboahyia Kumnipa II Mankrado and Krontihene of Boso.
According to the Divisional Chiefs, the kingmakers of the Boso Gua Royal family observing all customary rites under the instructions of the then head of the Royal family (Abusuapayin) John Kwaku Yeboah, now deceased performed the necessary rituals to destool the current Vice President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs Nana Osei Nyarko III known in private life as Ato Kwamena, as a result of his arrogance, self-conceitedness, disrespect for the citizens in the area and abysmal performance as Omanhene.
The Divisional Chief’s categorically rubbished proposals of the President of the Regional House of Chiefs Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin of reconstituting the membership of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, classifying it as a failure on the part of Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin to resolve the pending Boso Gua issues which the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs has intentionally overlooked for so many years and many others in the region.
They accused the Okyehene of ignoring a petition presented to him by the then Abusuapayin (deceased) requesting His Royal Majesty to help bring peace in the locality, upon feather petitions to the judicial committee the court presided over by the Okyehene ruled in favor of the destooled Chief asking him Nana Osei Nyarko to go and perform his duties as the Omanhene of Boso Gua but the said Omanhene has after three years of the ruling by the judicial committee has never stepped foot into the Boso Gua community.
Touching on the proposed Divisional Chief’s to represent the Boso Gua Traditional Council at the Regional House of Chiefs in the proposed reconstituting the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs the Divisional Chiefs noted that “we have interestingly noticed in the proposed reconstitution document, Boso Gua has been allocated with three slots and are represented by the Gyasehene of Boso, Ankobeahene of Boso, and the Adontenthene of the traditional council who is currently deceased”.
They stressed that the discovery has continued to raise serious concerns in the community as they wonder the criteria being used in selecting the representative, we were not informed, not consulted, making us furious about how the selection of those Chiefs was arrived at since the Gyasehene and Ankobeahene who customary are backroom staff of the Omanhene do not qualify to be Divisional Chiefs. The third who indeed is a divisional chief is deceased so our questions still remain unanswered”.
The released categorically states that the Divisional Chief’s will not encourage this new norm at all, explaining that it clearly demonstrates Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin move has not been properly thought through and so is bound to deepen the disputes for the Region than bringing the intended solutions, it is also an attempt by the failed leadership of the house to clinch onto power at all cost.
The Divisional Chiefs however announced their intentions to petition the national house of chiefs to look critically at the proposals put forward by the president of the Eastern Regional House of chiefs.
