The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released all withheld results from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) following a court directive.

The decision comes after WAEC initially withheld over 10,000 results due to alleged examination malpractice, triggering legal action and threats of nationwide protests from the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).

WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed that the council met its commitment to release the results by February 28. “As promised, we ensured that by the close of February 28, all withheld results were uploaded,” he stated.

He emphasized that the court order was instrumental in the council’s decision. “The court directed us to release the affected results, and we have complied fully. At this point, there are no outstanding results from the 2024 WASSCE,” he added.

With the results now accessible online, candidates can check their performance. Kapi acknowledged that some students might still register concerns but assured that the released results accurately reflect candidates’ performance. “Since February 28 was a Friday, we expect some candidates to begin contacting our offices this week with inquiries or complaints. However, we stand by the integrity of the released results,” he noted.
