Women urged to fight for recognition on the decision-making table

A Board Member of CGIA Institute, Madam Nancy Katio Tomani, has advised women to tool themselves up and fight for recognition at the decision-making table of various cooperate institutions in the country. She has adviced them to use their wealth of talent to help the nation to realize its potentials.

Addressing participants at the 2nd Women in Finance and Investment Summit and Awards in Accra, Madam Katio Tomani urged Corporate institutions to support women to take up roles in top management that are available in every sector of the economy.

She further expounds that, women in leadership take on great responsibilities at the workplace and have successfully turned obstacles into opportunities, by deploying effective strategies and solutions through experience and professional network in their career, and that theses experiences acquired should be shared through the social networks to develop talents and leadership qualities in others.

Katio Tomani, however lamented that, though women’s place in building any economy is well recognized, they continue to lag where representations are made at the top end of the corporate ladder despite their exceptional performances in these roles.

The CGIA Institute is an online and membership based professional body of finance and investment professionals, setting global standards for ethical investment practices for the finance and investment management industry.

2nd Women in Finance and Investment Summit (WIFIS 2021) was organized by The CGIA Institute and its affiliate network in Ghana, creating a platform to inspire the next generation for diversity and inclusive conversations and partnerships in the finance and investment management industry.

The summit was graced by very renowned women in Finance and Investment in the country including the 2nd Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi, and other astute women leaders in the finance and investment management industry in Ghana as speakers.

The Institute also used the opportunity to celebrate and award some women who have braved the odds and distinguished themselves in the banking and finance sector of the economy.
