YAFO Institute Triumphs at 2024 Think Tank Shark Tank Competition in Tanzania
Nathaniel Dwamena, President of the YAFO Institute, was declared the winner for his innovative approach to decentralization aimed at empowering small business owners in Ghana.
The YAFO Institute has emerged victorious in the prestigious Think Tank Shark Tank Competition at the 2024 Africa Liberty Forum, organized by Atlas Network, USA.
The event, held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, saw three finalists pitch their organization’s mission and goals within a five-minute window, followed by a five-minute Q&A session with the panel of judges, known as the “sharks.”
The competition featured three distinguished contestants, Henri Kouam of the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute with his project “Allies for Women Property Rights,”
Mugenzi Edgard of Resolution Connect in Burundi with his project “MVURA (Heal Me) CAMPAIGN: Empowering Healthcare Ecosystem in Burundi,” and Nathaniel Dwamena of YAFO Institute in Ghana with his project “Decentralized Business Empowerment.”

“With this award, we will empower small business owners to utilize decentralized technology to avoid double taxation, reduce operational costs, and be profitable within our local economy in Ghana,” stated Dwamena.
This victory signals a call to reshape the business regulatory environment in Ghana, promoting free market enterprise, freedom, and prosperity.
The Think Tank Shark Tank competition was co-hosted by Liberty Sparks, Tanzania, alongside Atlas Network, USA.
