The Minority leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has declared that no amount of intimidation or political persecution will weaken the resolve of the opposition, insisting that they will stand firm and reclaim power in the 2028 elections.

Speaking after the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement on Tuesday, 25 March, Afenyo-Markin accused the Mahama government of using state institutions to harass political opponents.

“A government that prioritises persecution over progress is bound to fail. Ghanaians are watching, and they will decide in 2028,” he warned.

Afenyo-Markin urged his colleagues in the opposition to remain steadfast and not be deterred by what he called “politically motivated arrests.”

He reassured supporters that the Minority remains committed to defending democracy and holding the government accountable.
