“People aren’t connecting, there are so many dots out there; Ghana doesn’t collaborate and connect women entrepreneurs enough to enjoy opportunities home and abroad,” Toyin Dania, Ambassador for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) has said in an interview at the 9th edition of the International Sheroes Forum.

She challenged young women to venture into the entrepreneurship field and take up challenging roles. She said this will change the narrative of the business sector.

She believes that women can bridge the gap of unemployment and become more independent and industrious in the world of business.

She expressed worry at the low level of connection in businesses in the country.

Toyin Dania tasked individuals, especially women, with the need to learn the act of connecting. And to learn from successful entrepreneurs in order to thrive and achieve success.

The Sheroes Forum offers women the platform to learn from successful women entrepreneurs. It also provides an opportunity to network with other professionals and dialogue on issues affecting women’s business success.

Dr. Mrs. Gifty Lamptey, Chairperson of the 9th Edition of the Sheroes Forum added her voice by challenging successful women to adopt and train young women to become entrepreneural and independent. She said this will give young women the confidence they need to thrive in the business industry.

“If you are a successful woman and you do not help young women rise, then there is no point advocating for women empowerment,” she stated.

This year’s event was themed ‘In Pursuit of Business Excellence’.

The half day event, featured five panels  comprising women entrepreneurs from Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, and a range of sectors, who shared their experiences and dialogued on how to strengthen their businesses.
