#IWD2022: Enough of the lip service, tackle gender disparities head-on – National Women’s Forum

The National Women’s Forum, a network of accomplished women from various professional groups, has called on Ghanaians to prioritize issues pertaining to gender disparity.

These were contained in a statement commemorating the International Women’s Day signed by its Executive Director, Dr. Diana Heyman-Adu (Mrs.).
The National Women’s Forum has been involved in more than 20 years of advocacy that have highlighted and focused attention on institutional and sociocultural barriers that prevent women from achieving sustainable livelihoods and leaves them vulnerable to violence and harm.
The statement further celebrated some outstanding Ghanaian women for making strides in different sectors of the society.
The United Nations has traditionally designated International Women’s Day as a day to reflect on accomplishments of women, to push for action to address persisting and widespread inequalities and violence against women, and to commemorate women who have played outstanding role including Ghana.
