The Ghana Football Association (GFA) together with the Ministry of Sports employs a system where the team is paid qualification bonus instead of the usual winning bonus. With this system even if the team fails to win any of their three group game but miraculously manages to qualify to the next round, they get $30,000.
Under this system, the qualification bonus consolidates the potential winnings from three group game victories, previously valued at $10,000 each.
