Statement: A Call for Timely Justice to 2020 Parliamentary Petitions

The NON-ALIGNED VOTERS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA, NAVAG wishes to appeal to the Ghana Judicial Service GJS to ensure timely adjudication of all electoral petitions of 2020 parliamentary elections pending in the law courts.

The people are desirous to see their votes counted and their candidates duly proclaimed and declared to represent them in the legislative assembly .

NAVAG is of the view that just as time lime is set for the period of adjudicating presidential disputes, the same should be applied disputes surrounding the parliamentary .

The soul of every nation is it’s politics which ensures orderliness , peaceful coexisting, justice ,equal opportunities, development, security and resource management for the benefit for all.

Our nature of politics is democracy which is people’s representative in governance. In this vein, all issues and disputes relating to elections should be of paramount to all and sundry.

The political parties are also willing to see the outcome to put finality to who truly holds majority in the law making house.

It is recalled that few constituencies had issues with their results declared in the, 2020 general elections.
These constituencies consist of Essikado -Ketan, Assini North and Takyiman South.

NAVAG is happy about the constituents of the affected areas for keeping calm and having faith in the dispensation of justice to ensure true people’s representation to the national assembly.

NAVAG is calling on the judicial body to kindly apply the same speedy nature to the presidential petition to resolve all parliamentary petitions to enables the rightful and duly elected candidates assume their responsibilities .
