Ghana is Broke, Government can’t pay Workers Salaries, Allowances, Emoluments and ESB
Presiden Akufo-Addo owes me my Salary Arrears and End of Service Benefits
On May 9th 2017, my Service to the Government of Ghana as an Article 71 Office holder ended.
Exactly five (5) years ago to the day, Our Article 71 Officeholders Team at the Youth Enterprise Support [YES] at the Office of the President handed over to the John Kuma-led Article 71 Officeholders team appointed by President Akufo-Addo, the rest of the staff remained at post.
Our team of Article 71 Officeholders which was appointed by President John Mahama ended its tenure per our contract 5months into the Akufo-Addo administration which was duty bound to pay us our End of Service Benefits; yet five (5) years on, has not paid our ESB.
As a former Presidential Staffer and Deputy CEO of the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) which has been renamed as NEIP, who also served as Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA) under President Atta-Mills and President John Mahama from 4th January, 2010 till my secondment to the Office of the President as a Presidential Staffer and subsequent appointment as Deputy CEO of YES, I am by law entitled to END OF SERVICE BENEFITS…
“Has anybody been paid End of Service Benefits under the Akufo Addo administration?”
If so, why the selectivity in paying what is due Ghanaian Workers?
So if today’s Article 71 Office holders currently serving in the Akufo-Addo administration are enjoying Salaries, Allowances and End of Service Benefits every four (4) years on top of huge Salary increases; what is the justification for not paying others?

The 2010 National Youth Policy and its accompanying Implementation Plan, gave birth to the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) as the entrepreneurial Policy intervention Office under the Office of the President to ensure a policy shift from the unsustainable policy of government trying to employ the teeming unemployed Ghanaian youth in favour of empowering the youth to employ themselves and others.
Today, the Minister of Youth and Sports is promising to review the National Youth Policy and produce an Implementation Plan;
Exactly what has been done in 2010 under our watch.
I encourage all Ghanaians, especially the Youth to follow closely the review of the National Youth Policy and the development of a new Implementation Plan to guide successive Governments in solving the myriad of problems confronting the Youth, including the Unemployment and Underemployment situation…
