A day after the Statistical Service Corruption Ranking which named the Judiciary as one of the most corrupt institutions in Ghana; the NDC held a Press Conference calling out the Judiciary…

General Asiedu Nketia alleged that the current Chief Justice was possibly the worst and has a gang of pro-government judges who are assigned political cases; claiming that the rendering of judgments without reasoning will collapse Ghana’s democracy and economy while discouraging investments…

The NDC has been on the receiving end of several 7:0, 9:0 verdicts including the Election Petition that the EC Chairperson was not allowed to be cross-examined by the NDC who felt hard done by and Ghanaians who were hoping that the truth about the controversial 2020 election results would be established; if Jane Adukwei Mensa was asked the critical question…

Since the low point of the Election Petition, the empanelling of judges and changes of judges of some political cases [Kennedy Agyepong and Dr. Opuni] have been very acrimonious.

The delay in some political cases and the fast-tracking of others [Teciman South, Assin North] have also raised eyebrows.

The #12 TigerEye-BBC undercover investigation operation undertaken by Anas Arimeyaw Anas and Ahmed Husein Suale beyond exposing the Corruption in Ghana Football highlighted in the words of the GFA President Kwesi Nyantekyi how President Akufo-Addo after selling his family property for his campaigns and broke was willing together with his Vice President Bawumia, some Ministers and Appointees including the Roads Minister Amoako Atta, his then deputy Anthony Karbo, then Deputy Chief of Staff Asenso Boakye among others to sell Ghana for bribes…

In the #12 Video Kwesi Nyantekyi demanded the bribe be share by a coefficient of 3:1:1:1 and requested that the loudmouthed Kennedy Agyepong be given a share to avoid him scuttling the deal, subsequently Kennedy Agyepong revealed the identity of Ahmed Hussain Suale promising to pay for his assault shortly before he was assassinated…

The TigerEye also caught Charles Bissiu collecting bribes at the Office of President Akufo-Addo to allow Galamsey…

The TigerEye rocked the foundations of the Judiciary when it caught judges collecting goats, yams, cash and even willing to trade sex exchange for favorable judgment…

The Corruption of the Judiciary which is the last bastion of justice delivery, a backbone of Ghana’s democracy has been test through the Constitutional process of impeachment stated in Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution.

The handling of the Article 146 Petition for the removal of Justice Anim-Yeboah for some land related matter left many dissatisfied.

It will be recalled that the two previous Chief Justices Sophia Akuffo and Georgina Theodora Woode both had Land related Article 146 Petitions for their removal sent to President Akufo-Addo and President John Evans Atta-Mills respectively…

In the case of Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo who sat on the Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey Ridge Bungalow Case when according to her ruling on the case was guilty; as she and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey together with hundreds of other people including Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode were fraudulently allocated State Lands by the Lands Commission…

President Akufo-Addo refused to act on the Sophia Akuffo Article 146 Petition for two years until she retired to shield the people who had also been fraudulently allocated the State Lands listed with the particulars of the fraudulent allocations in the appendix of the Petition; she survived the Article 146 Petition and remained in office unlike the former EC Chairperson Charlotte Osei under her watch.

Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo ruled with the minority decision against Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey yet is still holding on to the fraudulently allocated multimillion Cantonments State Lands she paid GHc7000 for.

Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode on the other hand readily released the prime Airport State Land she had exchanged her low-cost Akweteyman Land for, when President John Evans Atta-Mills informed her of an Article 146 Petition for her removal as Chief Justice.

The International Students Hostel Land which had via phone calls been shared between her, Prof. Akua Kuenyehia, Atta-Kyea, Lawyer Alima Mahama, Lawyer Freddy Blay, Lawyer Irene Addo, Lawyer K.T. Hammond, Hon. Osei Adjei, Mrs. Faibille and others was retrieved by President Atta-Mills, rezoned and used used to build the current Foreign Affairs Office Complex in replacement of the fire-gutted head office.

Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode was thus spared the effect of the Article 146 Petition for her removal from office, a fate that befell the CHRAJ boss Lauretta-Vivian Lamptey under her watch.

It is believed that the Judiciary is more corrupt than they are credited for, and that if the Bench and Bar are properly assessed they will beat the Ghana Police Service…

Justice must not be for sale, Justice must not only be done or seen to be done but manifestly so.

Ghanaians are resolved to be Citizens and not Spectators; thus will hold the feet of every arm of government to the fire.

The Kpobi Tettey Tsuru vs Attorney General must be subjected to Judicial review; the judgment which interpreted Article 20 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana; wrongfully equating “PUBLIC INTEREST” and “PUBLIC PURPOSE” is seen as a travesty of justice delivery to the Original Land Owners, no wonder government is having difficulty acquiring Land for developmental projects…
