Political influence and Greed has been the bane of the Chieftaincy institution in the Capital.
Within three (3) minutes after the death of Queen Elizabeth of UK there was a NEW KING, it took three (3) years to bury the LA Mantse Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru and there is no successor enstooled yet…
The lines of Succession are well known in the case of UK Royal Family…
The lines of Succession are also well know in the case of the LA Royal Family…
The Dagbon and Ashanti Royal Family Succession is also well known…
In the case of the UK the transition is smooth and seamless.
In DAGBON, there was once a gruesome murder of the Ya Naa and 40 others described as a WAR…
The killing of the Over-Lord of Dagbon and 40 others led to years of conflict and no new King being enskinned…
Eventually, a negotiated settlement was secured and a new Ya Naa was enskinned…
In ASHANTI, when the Asantehene died there were several suitable successors in line…
The Ashanti Queen mother in accordance with tradition was to select one, she selected her own son to become the next Asantehene.
That ended the process and Otumfuor Osei Tutu II was enstooled Asantehene.

The Royal Line and Succession must be clear everywhere…
The Constitution of Ghana guarantees the Chieftaincy Institution.
The Constitution of Ghana in Article 277 defines a “chief” as a person, who, hailing from the appropriate family and lineage, has been validly nominated, elected or selected and enstooled, enskinned or installed as a chief or queenmother in accordance with the relevant customary law and usage.
The LA MANTSE is enstooled by the LA JAASE.
“LA LANDS are vested in the LA STOOL with the LA MANTSE as Trustee.”
THERE ARE VESTED INTERESTS IN LA LANDS.
No Mantse is not enstooled by Courts, Parliament or the Executive, Military or Businessmen.
The vested interests make the ENSTOOLMENT OF A NEW LA MANTSE a huge challenge despite the time honoured mode of enstoolment of a La Mantse.
