The patients and children of the Orphanages were lavishly feted with parcels of different kinds of cooked food, assorted beverages and other gifts all in a bid to put smiles on their faces  and to make them know that they were loved and  remembered.

Speaking on the sidelines of the visit to one of the health facilities, Executive Director of Duamenefa Foundation, Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe said the gesture was an annual covenant celebration with the sick and fatherless, in line with Matthew chapter 25: 36 – which stated that “I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me…”

He said Duamenefa Foundation since it’s inception had recognized the plight of the sick, fatherless, vulnerable and the less fortunate in society.

“We are very much aware of the conditions of our brothers and sisters  and even the young ones who for one reason or the other and especially their health conditions could not join their families and loved ones in celebrating the Christmas and New Year seasons- so we have as we always do each year joined them to celebrate the season so that they can also have a feel of the goodness of God through the birth of His son and our redeemer Christ Jesus,” Ketaman said.

As part of the visits and celebration with the patients, a team of intercessory pastors who form the substratum of the organization were also on board to pray for the sick and to call on the almighty to intervene in their speedy recovery.

Administrators of the various beneficiary hospitals and the  Orphanages particularly Mr. Farouk Iddrisu of the Keta Government Hospital who was actively and personally engaged in the distribution of the food items to the patients in the wards, expressed profound appreciation to Duamenefa Foundation and partners for the kind gesture and called on other NGO’s and well-meaning individuals to emulate such good and worthy causes.

Mr. Paul Gagbey the Sacred Heart Hospital administrator lauded the annual covenant visitation to the sick by the foundation which he observed dated back several years ago.

He called on the foundation and it’s partners not to rest on their oars but to continue the good works by touching lives and restoring hope to the hopeless in society.

For his part, Mr. Alex Hlortsi administrator of the Aflao General Hospital said it was his first time of witnessing such benevolence since he assumed his position at the hospital some two years ago.

He also commended Duamenefa Foundation for it’s humanitarian efforts and wished the foundation and partners strength in the years ahead.

Administrators of the two beneficiary children’s homes also expressed their appreciation to the foundation for the gesture which they described as timely due to the many fatherless children they have had to feed during the season.

They further called on other organizations to follow the philanthropic move by Duamenefa Foundation so as to continue to put smiles on the faces of our little ones.

Some of the patients who could not hide their joy were full of praise and admiration for the foundation’s efforts and prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the team even as they continue to support the vulnerable and the underprivileged in society.

The children in the Orphanages were also visibly enthrilled by the presence of the visiting team and the love shown to them on the occasion.
