Affordable Housing Project takes off
Information gathered by ghananewsonline.com.gh indicates that all is set for the much awaited affordable Housing project in Ghana to take off. This is because enough funds have been secured with all auxiliary preparations done. These include the acquisition of land and payments to land owners.
In this respect, over 10,000 acre land have been procured by the Ghanaian Group in partnership with the Ghana government and the Chinese company for the construction of the project. The Group, Affram and Oppong is thus ready to construct about 100,000 units of affordable housing to bridge the two million housing deficit gap in the country.
Dr. Lorinda Liang, sole operator of the African Boolion account on the project disclosed this to our newshounds in an interview in Accra last week.
According to her, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), has already been signed between the Government of Ghana represented by the Minister of Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea, the financing group represented by Dr. Lorinde Liang and the construction company, the China Civil Engineering construction cooperation (CCECC) also known as the Chinese Railways.
Dr. Liang stated that her group, the Fresh Water Company and Glory International, representing the financiers is ready with the constructional amount of US$5billion.
While describing the minister as more than supportive of this project, she indicated that the project goes with the creation of jobs, adding that at least 180, 000 jobs would be available at this juncture.
Also, it includes police accommodation, schools, dormitories medical facilities and a new two Generation metropolitan cities. She maintained that the CCECC is a recognized reputable company the world over, with constructional capabilities.
She hinted that it is that company that built the Beijin city and the link load from China to Pakistan, also, it is that very company that built the Nigerian city of Liniki, a free trade zone first and best modern city in Africa.
Dr. Liong maintained that it was with such technology beautification that the CCECC wants to bring on board the Ghana Affordable Housing scheme According to her, the Ghanaian project will include new city development and recreational facilities
Our information has it further that the scheme will start from the Greater Accra Region and spread to the remaining regions throughout the country, and that some lands have also been acquired at Dodowa besides those acquired by the Affram and Oppong Group at Pokuase for the Project.
Dr. Liang stated that the project has neither foreign bond nor guarantee, and that the project itself serves as such. Subsequently, work should be expedited through to enable government meet the housing needs of Ghanaians in its determination to bridge the two (2) million housing deficit.
She pointed out that the project, once started, can be completed in no time, stressing that the 100,00 units can be completed in two years. All the same since the company, CCECC is out there to maintain its international image and reputation, there will be no shoddy work whatsoever.
She sees no reason why, with her reputation, she should pen her signature to any shoddy work

Dr, Lorinda Liang is the chairman of the USA-Chinal International Trade and information Office (an NGO) Also she chairs the states clinical Trans-literal Scientific Research, as well as chairman of the affordable Housing project in Ghana and also representative of the financial partners Besides, she partners with the Afram Group which has procured land for the construction of the 100,000 Affordable housing units.
Dr. Liang has been in Ghana for over Twenty (20) years now and has contributed immensely to the development of the country. Appearing more Ghanaian that the Ghanaian. Dr. Liang has been very instrumental in the transformation of the Kolebu Teaching Hospital and the School of Medicine, from the University of Ghana Legon to Korle – Bu. Also she has assisted greatly in the development of mining and palm oil sectors of the country. Infact she is reputed to have assisted more Ghanaian students in her individual capacity than any individual Ghanaians.
